Doris May Events
I finally made it to Hebden Bridge last weekend for their Rag Market event; I went on the train this time, straight through from York.
My friend Dawn invited me as she knows I love fabric. The event takes place every April and October and is run by the WI. There are three venues in Hebden which you can easily walk around and lots of people are selling all things sewing.
I came back laden with bags of fabric for myself and Annie to use. Annie is running her own small business making children’s dresses, slippers, aprons and accessories – you may have seen some her creations in the shop. She has named her business Doris May, which was my Mum’s name. She was the seamstress in our family and has passed on some of her skills. Annie has a website www.dorismayhandmade.com as well as selling her wares in Cleggs. She is also busy getting ready for craft fairs, one at the Belfry Hall, York on 2nd November 2019 and another at Ripon Market Place on 7th of December, 2019.
